What is Future VC?

Future VC is a program designed to increase diversity and access within the venture capital (VC) industry. We provide internships, training, and mentorship opportunities to individuals from underrepresented backgrounds, empowering them to build careers in VC.

What does the Future VC internship program entail?
The internship spans 8-12 weeks during the summer, providing participants with hands-on experience at leading VC firms. Interns also receive masterclasses, mentorship, and a certificate of completion.
Is Future VC a VC fund?
No, Future VC is not a VC fund. We provide programs dedicated to creating pathways into the venture capital industry through education, internships, and mentorship.
How is Future VC funded?
Future VC is funded through partnerships with venture capital firms.
Do I have to pay to be a part of Future VC as an intern?
No, there is no cost to participate in Future VC as an intern. In fact, interns are paid by the VC firms where they are placed.
Who can apply to Future VC?
We welcome applicants and encourage applicants from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. The program is open to anyone passionate about breaking into the venture capital industry.
What kind of training and support do participants receive?
Interns gain access to masterclasses, developmental programs, and pre-recorded video content. Participants also benefit from regular check-ins with mentors and support from the Future VC team.

How competitive is the application process?

Do I need a background in finance or technology to apply?
Not at all! While knowledge of finance or tech can be helpful, we value diverse skill sets and perspectives.

What happens after the program?

Are Future VC internships remote or in-person?
The format of internships depends on the host VC firm. Some internships may be remote, while others could be in-person or hybrid. Details are shared with participants during the placement process.
Can international applicants apply?
Yes, Future VC welcomes applicants from around the world. However, placements are subject to visa eligibility and the policies of the host VC firms.
Does Future VC sponsor Visas or Work Permits?
No, Future VC and VC Funds participating are not able to sponsor Visas or work permits. You must be eligible to live and work in the country where you’re applying to be an intern.
Does Future VC guarantee a full-time job after the internship?
While we cannot guarantee full-time employment, many of our participants have gone on to secure roles in VC or related fields through the connections and experience gained in the program.
How are interns matched with VC firms?
Both interns and VC funds will be asked to indicate their preferences, and a structured matching process will ensure the best fit for both parties.
Are there any networking opportunities during the program?
Yes, Future VC organizes events, workshops, and masterclasses where participants can network with industry professionals, mentors, and peers.
Does Future VC work with only early-stage VC firms?
No, Future VC partners with VC firms of all sizes and stages, from early-stage to late-stage and growth equity firms.
How does Future VC promote diversity in venture capital?
We focus on outreach to underrepresented communities, provide inclusive training and mentorship, and work with VC firms that share our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Future VC Programme

Future VC provides access and career opportunities to Venture Capital via our internship and development programme. As well as paid internships at some of the top funds in Europe and the US, participants attend a series of unique masterclasses given by industry leaders that cover key knowledge areas required in VC.
